Starting Point & Key Needs

BIND is a public-private Open Innovation Platform developed by the Basque Government and the SPRI Group through the Up! Euskadi platform. This initiative pursues three main goals: accelerating the growth of startups within the Basque industrial ecosystem, driving the digital transformation of companies, and positioning the Basque Country as an international hub for advanced industrial entrepreneurship.

To achieve these objectives, BIND has invested in a strong visual identity that reinforces its positioning and attracts cutting-edge startups from around the world. Since 2016, Zinkup has partnered with BIND to design and evolve its brand, ensuring consistency and impact through corporate materials that align with BIND’s identity and core values.

Zinkup’s Objectives in the Evaluation and Production Process:

  1. Develop proposals that address BIND’s evolving needs.
  2. Provide user-friendly, practical, functional, and sustainable materials.
  3. Ensure consistency of BIND’s visual identity across all channels and formats.
  4. Strengthen BIND’s positioning as a leading platform in industrial innovation and entrepreneurship.

Zinkup project

Zinkup is committed to supporting BIND’s brand objectives. Each year, we review and update the corporate identity to visually reflect BIND’s ongoing innovation across various platforms. Our design and communication team stays focused on meeting the client’s needs, adapting to the specific requirements of their events, activities, and communication goals.

This process includes analyzing design trends, selecting the right providers for corporate materials, and producing assets that reinforce the platform’s identity and enhance its impact within the startup ecosystem.

Needs Assessment & Trend Research

Before designing and producing communication materials, we start by asking key questions that guide the creative process:

1. What do we want to communicate, and who is the audience?

Understanding the purpose of each communication piece—whether informational, promotional, or functional—is critical before developing a creative strategy or selecting a product. Clearly defining the target audience from the outset is equally important, as it influences both the design and choice of materials.

2. What channels and formats are available?

Depending on the brand’s sector, nature, and specific needs, we choose the most effective channels to reach the target audience—whether through a website, social media, corporate materials, emails, or other formats. The medium determines how the message is conveyed.

3. What has been done before, and what were the results?

Past experiences offer valuable insights. Reviewing the effectiveness of previously used communication, channels and corporate materials—and their impact on the audience—provides a solid foundation for refining future proposals.

4. What are other organizations in the sector doing?

Studying trends and observing similar brands helps us understand the ecosystem in which BIND operates. Familiarity with industry codes and best practices allows us to select the most effective formats, create innovative materials, and ensure the brand connects with its audience and meets its positioning goals.

5. What is the available budget?

Budget determines the scope of design, choice of channels, formats, and production options. Crafting an optimized proposal requires years of experience and continuous learning—qualities that define Zinkup’s team and approach.

Website Design

To introduce BIND to an international audience and support its mission of positioning the Basque Country as a leading hub for industrial innovation, Zinkup collaborated on designing and developing a multilingual website, available in English, Spanish, and Basque. The site features a fresh, dynamic, and innovative visual identity, paired with a clear and engaging message aimed at capturing the attention of its target audience.

Informational Materials

To present BIND’s programs and clearly explain how they work and the benefits they offer, Zinkup writes and designs a variety of informational pieces for the platform, distributed in both digital and print formats.

1. Brochures

These lightweight brochures are designed for event use, offering a concise, engaging overview of BIND’s value proposition. The goal is to capture attention quickly and encourage interaction with potential participants and stakeholders.

2. Catalog

This digital catalog is updated annually with BIND’s latest success stories. It provides an in-depth look at the initiative’s benefits, corporate partners, collaborators, and the broader ecosystem. The catalog also showcases the impact of BIND’s programs, featuring the startups and projects that have been accelerated through the platform.

Corporate Materials Production

At Zinkup, we are committed to delivering creative proposals that align with BIND’s values. As an Open Innovation platform working with international startups, its corporate identity must be reflected through innovative products, formats, and materials. Additionally, BIND’s focus on fostering a greener, more efficient industry is echoed in our selection of sustainable and recycled materials.

Supplier Selection

Once the products to be designed are identified, we propose working with suppliers that offer the specific features and product quality we’re looking for. Establishing strong communication with these partners is key, as they provide valuable input on design, printing, and material selection. For this reason, supplier relationship management plays a crucial role throughout the entire process.

Material Design

After selecting the products, we collaborate closely with suppliers to design each corporate item, ensuring brand consistency in terms of colors, logo placement, and overall identity.

Some examples of the branded materials we have designed for BIND include: pens, folders, notebooks, roll-ups, tote bags, business cards and chocolates.
