Here’s how we connected with innovation and entrepreneurs in Gipuzkoa’s Sport-Tech industry.

At Zinkup, we work closely with Sportek Hub, a public-private initiative promoted by the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa (through their Sports and Economic Promotion/Entrepreneurship departments), the City Councils of Eibar and Donostia, the Real Sociedad Foundation, the SD Eibar Foundation, and managed by BIC Gipuzkoa. The goal: to grow the sports industry and boost its competitiveness. From the beginning, our mission has been clear—to position Sportek Hub as a leading hub that connects companies, organizations, startups, entrepreneurs, universities, and technology centers to develop new technologies and enhance the competitiveness of the sports industry.

The Challenge

Sportek Hub needed to update its brand identity and redefine its messaging to better connect with its ecosystem and position itself as a key player in sports innovation in Gipuzkoa. This meant creating a strong brand identity, developing an effective communication strategy, and producing relevant content to attract startups, researchers, and potential collaborators to this innovation hub.

Strategy and Actions

At Zinkup, we developed a comprehensive communication and marketing strategy for Sportek Hub with the goal of positioning it as a benchmark in both the sports industry and Gipuzkoa’s startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem. Our mission was to build a new corporate identity for the hub in order to attract talent, foster strategic connections, and give visibility to its initiatives.

To achieve this, we created a strong brand with a solid digital presence through a full rebranding, the launch of a new website, the opening of a LinkedIn channel, and an effective content marketing strategy alongside email marketing campaigns to attract startups and entrepreneurial projects.

Actions we carried out include:

New Branding and Corporate Identity

We redesigned the Sportek Hub logo, creating a modern and dynamic brand image that reflects its innovative spirit. This new image and identity were applied across all of its communication materials and external communication channels.

Website, LinkedIn channel, email marketing, corporate presentation…

Message Redefinition and Value Proposition

We worked on creating key messages that clearly communicate the hub’s mission and vision, highlighting its role as a catalyst for innovation in the sports industry.

LinkedIn

We launched Sportek Hub’s LinkedIn channel and have since managed its content to promote various calls for applications, sharing relevant and engaging content to attract talent, build a committed community, and expand its network.

Content Marketing

We developed content and new messages for the hub’s new website, including news about startups, collaborators, and landing pages for the different calls from Sportek Hub aimed at startups, entrepreneurs, and researchers. We also created new audiovisual content to promote Sportek Hub’s calls via social media.

Email Marketing Design and Content as Part of the Digital Marketing Strategy

We designed and developed email marketing campaigns as part of the digital marketing strategy to attract startups, entrepreneurs, and researchers. We created personalized, visually appealing content aligned with the goals of each hub call, optimizing the reach and conversion of the campaigns.

Results

Thanks to these actions, Sportek Hub has established itself as a leading space for technological innovation in the sports industry in Gipuzkoa. It’s important to highlight that Sportek Hub collaborates with various promoters, including both public and private institutions. Notable partners include the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the City Councils of Eibar and Donostia-San Sebastián, the Real Sociedad Foundation, the SD Eibar Foundation, and BIC Gipuzkoa as the managing body. Their cooperation has been crucial in promoting and giving visibility to its new identity, which has been key to its success.

A strong brand identity, an active presence on social media, and effective communication have enabled Sportek Hub to attract a growing number of startups, researchers, and collaborators to its calls, driving the development of new technologies and enhancing the competitiveness of the sports industry in the region.
